Neoprene is the most popular for Jeeps because it is waterproof, durable, and comfortable year-round. Canvas and Cordura are the toughest options for heavy-duty trail use but are less comfortable. Leather and leatherette add a premium look but can get hot in summer. For topless driving and trail use, neoprene is the best all-around choice.

Thin neoprene and mesh seat covers allow heated seats to function, though heat transfer is slightly reduced. Heavy canvas and thick padding may block too much heat. If heated seats are important, look for covers specifically marketed as heated-seat compatible. Avoid covers with thick foam backing over the seat heater area.

This is critical — always buy seat covers designed for your specific Jeep model with side airbag provisions. These covers have breakaway stitching or dedicated airbag channels that allow the airbag to deploy properly. Generic or universal covers can prevent airbag deployment and are a serious safety hazard. Check for FMVSS 302 compliance.

Remove the covers and hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or machine wash — these degrade the neoprene.
